Focus Areas

Where we concentrate our efforts

The conservation priorities that guide our programmes and partnerships across Zambia's landscapes.

What We Do

Our Four Focus Areas

Our work is built around four interconnected priorities that protect Zambia’s environment and empower its people.

01

Forests and Wildlife Conservation

We protect and restore Zambia's forests through community-led reforestation, alternative livelihoods and policy advocacy.

02

Waste Management

Plastic pollution threatens the water, safety and health of Zambians. We engage communities to turn the tide through education and by creating alternatives.

03

Water and Climate Resilience

We train and support thousands of youth to lead the response to the growing threat of climate change in Zambia.

04

Policy Advocacy and Education

Since independence, WECSZ has led lobbying and consultation with government to create sustainable environmental policies — from national parks to the Water Bill and national climate adaptation plans.
